Update from RAF Shawbury

As Summer approaches, this is always a particularly busy time of year for RAF Shawbury and our airfield. In line with trying to keep our neighbouring Parish Councils informed of activities and events, I include below key dates of what is planned to be happening at RAF Shawbury over the Summer period. Of course, our Station representative on your Committee will be able to provide more information during your forthcoming meetings but I would be grateful if you could share this with your Chair accordingly.

Fri 6 June to Sun 9 June - RAF Shawbury plays a role in supporting the RAF Cosford Air Show. There is no displaying over our airfield but we plan to receive some visiting aircraft over the weekend.

22 August – RAF Shawbury Families Day which traditionally attracts some displaying aircraft. Currently we are aware of an element of the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight aiming to support the event.

26 September – RAF Shawbury Annual Reception. An early evening event, again with an element of the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight aiming to support with a fly over the Station.

6 and 12 September also sees Battle of Britain Dinners at the Sergeants’ and Officers’ Messes which may attract BBMF support but as yet these are not confirmed.
